While most of our recent hot hatch affection has been aimed at the Ford Focus RS, Renault brought its own racy three-door to the London Motor Show party, and now we're torn. Admittedly, the Focus RS is easily the more suitable day-to-day driver - it's got a full interior and air conditioning -- but the Renaultsport Megane R26.R has all the kit for a serious track-day assault. Hell, it even has two Rs in its name.

If you're in the New York metropolitan area and don't have any plans this weekend, you might want to shoot up I-95 (or jump on Metro-North) to Greenwich, Connecticut, where Bruce and Genia Wennerstrom will be putting on the annual Greenwich Concours d'Elegance. This is a spectacular event that's held over two days. Day 1 is Saturday, June 7, which will focus on American autos from every era. When Saturday wraps up, all the American metal drives off and the Europeans take over the premises for Day 2 on Sunday.

Although most people don't realize it, Southern California does indeed have seasons. Sure the weather may be sunny and 70 all year-long, but there are most definitely seasons. We happen to be in the middle of concours season right now, with classic car shows popping up like, well, like poppies. The classic car fan is completely spoiled for choice out here, with shows occurring in Los Angeles, Long Beach, and in Huntington Beach just this past weekend.

Think that new 2008 FG Falcon XR8 isn’t sporty enough for you? Fear not, for Ford Performance Vehicles - the SVT of FoMoCo’s Australian operations - has revealed it’ll be putting its sport-touch on the Blue Oval’s new rear-drive range. The new range of performance Falcons will make their debut at the Melbourne Auto Show next week.
Although the cars are supposed to emphasize brute force, we sadly won’t know any performance figures until this summer, but we do expect the FPV Falcon range to use the new 4.0-liter turbocharged I-6 and the 5.4-liter V-8 in the new FG Falcon. We’d hedge our bets that both will debut with at least some bump in horsepower, although both seem fairly powerful in their stock form.

The neat little Renault Clio Sport Tourer estate will take a bow at Frankfurt motor show, along with four other new production cars and two concepts.
The 4.2m-long Clio Sport Tourer bumps up the luggage space to 439 litres and goes on sale here in spring to rival the Peugeot 207 SW and the Skoda Fabia Combi, which also goes on sale in spring 2008 following a Frankfurt preview.

The Cross Coupe quattro is described as a compact performance SUV, and it's a safe bet that it's a preview of the upcoming Q5. The Q5 may not get this concept's electrically folding fabric hood, but the 2.0-litre, 204bhp/295lb-ft diesel engine (capable of returning 47.9mpg) with Bluetec catalyst system is a dead cert for production.

The innovative design and sporty looks of this X1 Concept car that was rolled out by Extreme Automobiles at Autosport International Show leave me mesmerized. This two-seat concept uses a carbon composite technology that makes the car very stiff but astonishingly lightweight. It weighs just 2,600 pounds. The best part is that along with these enticing looks, it houses a 350-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine that can be tuned to 500 hp if you desire for more power. The car is set for production with a $88,695 sticker.

Volvo has recently unveiled its new XC60 SUV. The vehicle has more pumped looks with an improved interior. The car is predicted to be the C30 owner’s next car as it includes a bolder interpretation of the Volvo grille, with a large logo across the diagonal band, plus a more distinctive rear end with Volvo spelled out in large letters and an innovative split tailgate that refines the one fitted to the C30 hatchback. The most appealing part is the interior that features a white dash board with various warning lights and a driver information unit. The car an run on ethanol as an alternate fuel with its 3.-litre 6-cylinder flex-fuel engine and therefore reducing the emission by up to 80%.
Safety is the first priority of the consumers so the company has took in account this factor and equipped the car with a low-speed adaptive braking system called City Safety is fitted, which prevents the XC60 from running into the car in front at low speeds.

Oversized sunroofs and panorama glass have become commonplace in the SUV market, but this Hummer H3 takes that concept one step further. It features a full-length retractable cloth roof created by aftermarket company ASC. Called "Infinivu," the roof should be enough to brighten up the otherwise cave-like interior of the H3 for your next safari adventure. Because this vehicle was first seen at the SEMA show in Las Vegas this past November, GM also tarted up the exterior with twenty-inch wheels and meaty Mickey Thompson tires. There's no word on whether Hummer will offer this special roof straight from the factory, but ASC would be glad to build you one if the price is right.
