Rumors have been circulating that Jaguar will be launching a new XJ-R to take on the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG. No official confirmation has been released so far but that didn’t stop AutoGespot from creating a couple of renderings to depict what the XJ-R may look like if it goes into production.

So the 2010 Jaguar XJ has been revealed in full last night at London’s Saatchi gallery, by former talk show host Jay Leno and former supermodel Elle MacPherson, oh and managing director Mike O’Driscoll just happened to be there too! As for the car itself, our first impression is: ASTONISHING! The new generation Jaguar XJ is almost 200 percent better than the car it replaced, Ian Callum and his team broke free from that traditional shape in favour of a contemporary and beautiful design.

I can't say I ever thought our Four Seasons Jaguar XF Supercharged needed more power, but the XFR's extra 90 hp is an absolute hoot. The XF's superb chassis easily handles the extra power, and subtle differences in the interior and exterior details let enthusiasts know your XFR is something special.

In a press release announcing the cars it would be taking to this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, Jaguar's own Mike Cross has officially confirmed the coming of the Jaguar XKR Goodwood Special. We noted before that it would be louder and faster and detailed in satin graphite, but now we find out it will get a lower ride height over 21-inch wheels and – are you ready? – "a unique Lime Green paint scheme and XKR exterior graphic" as shown above. Alrighty, then.

There's a post-colonial irony to the fate of the British auto industry. Its two most elite names, Rolls-Royce and Bentley, now belong to the Germans, while those two other symbols of the empire, Jaguar and Land Rover, are now owned and operated out of the one-time heart of Britain's overseas holdings.Last year, India's upstart Tata Motors purchased the last two brands from Ford Motor Co.

Fast, powerful, and elegant these are the attributes of nature’s fearless beasts. Jaguar always strives to imitate the animals formidable appearance, and its new high-performance sedan is supposed to be that street-cat.

I think Bob Lutz is right about the potential“emotional connection” between a car and its driver. For many of us gearheads out there, cars are as much of an object of desire as any long legged dame. Tell me you couldn’t just stare at any of these cars for an unhealthy amount of time. Here are the seven most beautiful (production) cars ever made.

Strange goings on this morning from the Jaguar development team at Germany’s Nürburgring, as our spy photographers have caught images of an XK mule that seems to raise more questions than it answers.
