Europeans go crazy for the Volkwagen Golf, but not so much for the Jetta. Like, not crazy at all. Americans, on the other hand, will give props to a hatchback, but what we really love is big butts and we cannot lie a trunk in which to put our junk. According to Inside Line, Audi has decided to stop letting its A3 hatchback be a whipping boy while trying to sway American tastes and instead it has committed to bringing us an A3 sedan.

I find it funny that Hyundai, a Korean car company, is using "Blue" to identify its most fuel-efficient cars. This move reminds me of the Volkswagen BlueMotion models and the AdBlue name for diesel-exhaust after-treatment fluids, both of which are very German. Identifying products as "blue" makes me think of a marine application, and the label could be confusing for consumers who are looking for products to help save the environment, which are more typically referred to as "green."

As shoppers remain worried about the day-to-day economics of driving, Hyundai is looking like one of the best-prepared automakers. The automaker has a new focus, for its new and upcoming products, of keeping weight and engine size down, and it shows both in the new 2010 Tucson introduced at the LA show today and the 2011 Sonata introduced yesterday.

Hyundai is absolutely relentless, especially after reporting the absolutely astounding news of a 46 percent increase in sales, year-over-year, this past November. Now, they have a new car to display and it is aiming for the big dogs. Yes, the mid-size sedan segment. Today, Hyundai took the wraps off of its new Sonata. And, on paper it sounds pretty damn enticing, if I say so myself.

Quick – name the most fuel efficient car brand in America. Did you say Toyota? Honda? Surely, you're not alone, but incorrect all the same. In fact, the answer is none other than Hyundai, which publicly set out to nab the title just one year ago. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Hyundai cars averaged 30.1 miles per gallon for the 2009 model year.

The news comes from Hyundai Motor America’s top engineer John Juriga, who made the comments during a technical presentation at Hyundai’s North American Engineering facility in Michigan.

It's arrived. Finally. The wickedly awesome Rhys Millen Racing mid-engine V8 version the Hyundai Genesis Coupe is here, and it took every fiber of our being not to hop in and drive it off the SEMA show floor. The RM460 is why we're in Sin City -- it's the embodiment of the originality and DIY-ethic of the aftermarket extravaganza in Vegas.
