Here's the car that Honda hopes will finally make hybrids cool! This is the CR-Z – which made its world debut in production form at the Detroit Motor Show and will go on sale in the UK in the summer, priced at around £17,000. Billed as the world's first hybrid sports car, it is powered by Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system, which is shared with the Insight.

The latest lessee of one of Honda's FCX Clarity fuel cell sedans is Scott Niedermayer. As captain of both the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL and the Canadian Olympic hockey team, Niedermayer is the first athlete to get one of the hydrogen-powered Hondas. The hockey star currently lives in Orange County near Los Angeles, making him eligible to get one of the fuel cell machines since he has access to fuel.

At the Delhi Auto Expo in India this week, Honda's local operation is showing off a concept creatively named "New Small Concept." Hopefully they didn't pay some overpriced marketing company much for that one. Regardless of what the car is called, it's actually an interesting design for a low-cost, five-door hatchback, adopting many of the styling cues found on the new CR-Z hybrid coupe.

Though the Honda Insight is handily outpacing sales projections in its home market of Japan, sales in the rest of the world are falling well short of expectations. Of the 200,000 Insights Honda had hoped to sell annually, 100,000 of those were supposed to come from the American market, 60,000 from Japan and the final 40,000 from Europe.

Don't call it a relaunch. The first round of U.S. ads for the new Honda Insight defined the car as "the hybrid for everyone" and made a big deal about the Insight's low price compared to the Prius. They showed all sorts of people enjoying the Insight, but didn't exactly put the car's eco-benefits front and center.

After nearly a full year in our fleet, can we start drawing conclusions on our Four Seasons Honda Fit Sport? Yes -- and senior Web editor Phil Floraday can narrow it down to a few highlights. Honda's face-lift for the 2010 CR-V may be mild, but in my mind, it helps clean up the front fascia of the car. Not only have designers reduced the use of the argent plastic cladding along the lower edge of the front bumper, but they've also stylized the grille by widening the upper openings and removing the chrome bars from the lower section.

Among mainstream brands, consumers still rate Honda and Toyota highest in quality—whether that is or isn't the case on actual quality surveys. But Ford is quickly gaining ground. That's according to the latest Perceived Quality Study (PQS), from residual values expert Automotive Leasing Guide (ALG). Perceived quality sometimes fails to mirror actual quality.

The future is a common theme at most auto shows, and the future most carmakers have seen lately is a highly compact, enviro-friendly urban environment. To remain relevant in such a market, cars will have to shrink, adapt and go very high-tech, at least if the concepts are to be believed. Honda's latest, the Personal-Neo Urban Transport--yes, P-NUT--offers a new look at that theme.
