Under the blanket of winter, Detroit is smoking hot, caught in the throes of the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. And the latest hot concept to hit the Web is the 2012 Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept. The XTS Platinum Concept is a preview of the upcoming Cadillac flagship sedan, intended as a range-topper to top the CTS in its many forms. But can it live up to the hype? Excellent question.

I like wagons, but the CTS is one car that I didn't think needed a long-roof variant. For marginal volume, it seems a strange place for GM to be spending money these days, even if it is a relatively minor investment. After driving the CTS wagon, my tune has changed. Somewhat.

Under the typically dark veil of show-car secrecy, Cadillac has released a teaser image of a new concept that will be unveiled next month at the Detroit Auto Show. As you'd expect, details are slim, but we've been assured that this is an entirely new concept and something we've not yet seen, which rules out the Voltec-powered Converj as well as the 3 Series-fighting ATS.

At an off-site venue just ahead of the car’s “official” debut at the LA Auto Show tomorrow, Cadillac has given us a full preview of its new 2011 CTS Coupe. This addition to the CTS lineup, means that Cadillac now offers a Coupe, Wagon, Sedan and the high-performance CTS-V sedan. Cadillac has officially confirmed a CTS-V Coupe is in the pipes, but its unclear when we will get to see (and experience) that amazing machine.

General Motors finally revealed the production version of their much anticipated Cadillac, the CTS Coupe. Joining the current range of CTS sedan, Sport Wagon and CTS-V performance saloon, the 2+2 Coupe features a unique design, looking exactly like its concept model shown at 2008 NAIAS, which is like nothing else on the streets today and for that reason it’s very cool! It’s a new face forCadillac and as Bryan Nesbitt, new general manager, points out “It is intended to appeal to a new generation of car enthusiasts.”

After much hemming and hawing, General Motors will reportedly build a version of the Cadillac Converj, the gorgeous but awkwardly named extended-range coupe concept first shown at last year's Detroit Auto Show. According to The Detroit News, the Converj will probably take a few years to reach dealer showrooms, as GM will first direct its efforts on launching the Chevrolet Volt.

We knew when General Motors opened up the CTS-V Challenge to any and all Caddy killers the response would be impressive, and according to Cadillac spokesman Nick Twork, it's been just that. Around 120 people applied for a chance to take on Bob Lutz in the CTS-V sedan later this month, but that doesn't mean we'll be seeing dozens of would-be contenders lining the Monticello Motor Club in New York on October 29.

Downsizing trims the sticker, but there’s another price to pay. BY JOHN PHILLIPS As GM wobbled toward bankruptcy, the company’s boosters often cited Cadillac as proof that at least one division knew the secret for success. But stroll through a Cadillac showroom. The DTS isn’t even on your Uncle Marvin’s radar. The pretty but aging STS has been nudged onto the berm by at least five luxo-sports sedans, none from America.

Amid all the terrible news coming out of the U.S. auto sector, there are some glimmers of hope… sort of. While General Motors is cutting models and whole brands, it is making a commitment to introduce a new Cadillac model under the CTS.

I had just found this spy shot photo of new Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. New sedan V series which is now still on the project of General Motors. Talking about this car, based on the information I’ve got, this car is specified by a 556hp of 6.2-lither supercharged V8 engine, designed with different coupe body.
