At first glance, the BMW ActiveE concept is little more than a 1 Series with a questionable paint job. Seriously, the ActiveE looks like it's been sniffing blue paint. However, should you choose to look more closely, you will notice it's missing tailpipes. Also, someone ripped off the fuel-filler door.

You can't buy the 2011 BMW 5 Series yet, but German tuner Racing Dynamics knows what it's going to do to the car when you can. Opt for the 535i and you'll take delivery of a sedan turned into an R35, pulled by a turbocharged six that's got a 104-horsepower bump to 410 along with 385 pound-feet of torque. It will get to 60 miles per hour nearly a second faster than the standard 535i.

Racing Dynamics is one of the coolest BMW tuners, not only because of their huge obsession with horsepower, but also because of the amazing bodykits which are like their signature. They are currently working on some packages for the all-new BMW 5-series, and based on the emerged details, they are good! as always.

BMW’s electric “Megacity” vehicle may be approximately five years away from reaching production, but that’s not stopping the automaker from toying with electric vehicles to develop, test, and refine the technology. After sending nearly 600 electrified Mini Es into the world, BMW will prepare a second batch of test cars, which will closely resemble the Concept ActiveE shown here.

Late last month, BMW officially revealed its next generation 5 series sedan in Munich and the opening salvo of powertrains includes the usual array of gas and diesel six- and eight-cylinder engines. However, with the recent launches of the ActiveHybrid X6 and 7, no one expects it to stay that way for long.

Next year BMW will offer its 7-series flagship saloon in the North American market with the 3.0 liter N54 inline-6 engine. It’s for the first time after 18 years that the German manufacturer is making a six-cylinder variant of the 7er, and that’s because they didn’t have a good six-cylinder engine for the job! Until now.

The 2011 BMW 7-Series is bringing back six-cylinder engines. BMW confirms today that its range-topping 7-Series sedan will get two additions in 2011. The new 740i and 740iL sedans will join the existing ActiveHybrid, eight-cylinder, and twelve-cylinder models in the 7-Series lineup. The new engines are twin-turbo in-line six-cylinders, with the short- or long-wheelbase body being the primary difference between the two.

When BMW launched the new Z4 early this year, they made it clear that, unlike the last Z4 and the Z3 before it, there were no plans to create an M version this time around. Of course, forgoing the M nomenclature doesn't mean that BMW won't create a faster Z4 than what's currently in showrooms.

Our 2009 BMW 750Li is back in Ann Arbor and racking up miles at a more typical pace again. In the last month we're driven the big Bimmer 4552 miles, which brings the grand total just shy of 32,000 miles. In nine months. New York bureau chief Jamie Kitman mourns the fact that we've taken the 7-series back to Ann Arbor for its last few months in our fleet.

Audi has the mid-engined R8 (now available with a 525-horsepower V10). Mercedes-Benz now has the AMG SLS (with more power than the R8 – 563 horses). BMW has... a 500-horsepower V10 in a 4,000 pounds M6. Not exactly competitive in the supercar department these days. Well, according to everyone's favorite British Buff Book (EVO), BMW will be releasing a new supercar.

Even though not officially confirmed, sources close to BMW place the new X5 Facelift version in the showroom at the Detroit Auto Show next month which means that official photos are just days away. In the mean time, Palbay, returns with some new spy photos of the X5 LCI. While the photos give us the same front-end as seen in previous shots, the most interesting piece of news could come from the lower part of the front-end, in the right side air intake...
