Europeans go crazy for the Volkwagen Golf, but not so much for the Jetta. Like, not crazy at all. Americans, on the other hand, will give props to a hatchback, but what we really love is big butts and we cannot lie a trunk in which to put our junk. According to Inside Line, Audi has decided to stop letting its A3 hatchback be a whipping boy while trying to sway American tastes and instead it has committed to bringing us an A3 sedan.

The 2010 Audi S5 Cabriolet is by far the quietest softtop convertible I have ever driven. There was no howling wind noise or cold air coming through the tight seams; the S5 Cabriolet really drove like a fixed-roof vehicle. Surprisingly, the driver's rearward visibility isn't hindered by the top; the car has slightly larger blind spots at the C-pillars, but the lack of a B-pillar more than makes up for it.

Konigseder’s new kit for Audi S5 Coupe proves that you can improve on perfection! The S5’s discrete and classy body is now sporty and aggressive as well thanks to the tuner’s modified new bumper, sport wheels and new exhaust with those magnificent tailpipes. The only criticism is the side skirts which are unnecessarily big! Audi S5 has also received a new set of exhaust system from Konigseder which improves its V8 rumble (well if you buy the V8 model! which you should). And there a pair of twin tailpipes which again, are quite big, but kinda cool.

While German automakers are still talking a lot about electric cars and the benefits of diesel, they are also quietly rolling out hybrid models. As hybrids continue to increase in popularity, many European automakers are starting to take after their Japanese counterparts, especially as the Japanese have done such an excellent job penetrating the European luxury market over the past two decades.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the safety recall of about 6,000 model year 2009 Audi Q5 units, which have been found to be at risk of its trim covers getting loose once the head airbag is deployed. The NHTSA’s official website states that a defective cover piece mounted on the A-pillar can detach if the head airbag is deployed and hit the front seat occupants of the vehicle.

Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen doesn't seem to be a big fan of electric vehicles, yet the four-ringed automaker appears to be warming to the green tech. Since de Nysschen's assault on the Chevrolet Volt (and electric vehicles in general), the German luxury automaker has unveiled the sweet-looking eTron concept, and it is now officially confirming that it will venture into the hybrid market.

Although the auto industry's renewed global focus is streamlining product plans across continents, there will always be cars we want but can't have. For its discreet performance and sleek luxury, the Audi S3 compact hatchback is one of these mythical machines. To drive the real thing, you'd have to cross the Atlantic or endure the bureaucratic agony of trying to import one, but perhaps the best way to get into an S3 is to make your own.

Will the real torque figure of the Audi e-tron concept please stand up? While the German automaker continues to claim its all-electric concept sportscar manages a stout, locomotive-like 4,500 Nm (3,319.03 pound-feet) of torque, the sleuthing boys at Automobile Magazine weren't buying it, instead coming up with a much more mundane rating of 252 lb-ft of torque after performing some back-of-a-paper-napkin calculations.

Although Audi officials have expressed serious interest in bringing the new Audi A1 to North America, to date, the company has announced no official plans to do. The global economy has made automakers more cautious in the marketplace, and America's lack of familiarity with premium compact cars hasn't made Audi's decision any easier.

Looks like Audi is attempting to get N'Sync with younger customers! This amazing spyshot has been leaked onto Facebook by an unknown user showing what's believed to be the first undisguised image of the production-ready Audi A1. Snapped during what appears to be a promotional video shoot, the front-end of the MINI-rival can be clearly seen.

Automobile Magazine had a Four Seasons A6 when this current-generation car first came out, and I have to say that I like this version a lot better. I remember our long-term example having a brittle ride over broken pavement, for which I figured the optional eighteen-inch wheels were at least partly culpable.

And by "controversial," we mean "disgusting." Look, the R8 has those side blades because it's a mid-engine car, but Audi felt they still need a place for a set of golf clubs, so they lengthened the cabin so the clubs can be stowed behind the seats. Meaning that the body has a whole lot of extra length in the middle.
