The wait is finally over; Lamborghini has released the official details on its much anticipated Gallardo LP560-4, and yes that 560 stands for 560PS (which is equal to 552 horsepower).

Successor to the most successful Lamborghini model of all time, the LP560-4 is powered by a 5.2 liter V10 engine that produces 552 horsepower, an increase of 40 horses over the previous Galladro. The new Lambo sprints from 0-62 in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 201mph. Even with the considerable power increase, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have been reduced by 18 per cent. The Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 with E-gear gets an average fuel-economy of 17mpg, with a manual transmission fuel-economy falls to 16mpg.

Allowing the LP560-4 to take curves even more aggressively, aerodynamic efficiency has been improves by 31 percent over its predecessor. The automated E-gear transmission has been completely redesigned and improved. Not only is the system lighter compared to the older version, but gear change time has been reduced by 40 percent.
