Completely re-designed and re-engineered last year, the 2nd-generation Mercedes-Benz M-Class sport utility vehicle is the embodiment of bold styling, enhanced comfort and legendary 5-star safety. For 2007, the premium midsize SUV offer sports-car spirit in 4-models, ranging from the 268-horsepower ML350, up to the ML63 AMG with an incredible 503 horses. The ML63 achieves 0 to 60 mph in a breathtaking 4.8 seconds. There is also the 215 hp diesel engine on the ML320 CDI that yields up to 30 percent better fuel economy than comparable gasoline engines. All models come with standard 7-speed automatic transmissions, and Touch Shift fingertip controls via rocker buttons behind the upper steering-wheel spokes. The M-Class offers permanent 4-wheel drive, 5-passenger seating, and 72.4 cubic feet of cargo capacity with seatbacks folded. Major change is to a car-type unibody from previous truck-type body-on-frame and the midsize SUV uses a high strength, low alloy steel that makes the structure three times stronger than before.
