Following the strong sales launch of the Lincoln Zephyr in the autumn of 2005, the entry-level luxury sedan is reborn for the 2007 model year with a new name – Lincoln MKZ. The new MKZ moniker fits with Lincoln's plan of naming models with alphanumeric abbreviations beginning with MK. Also new is the 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 263 horsepower to the front wheel, or brand new all-wheel drive. A 6-speed automatic gearbox is standard. Newly designed front end, additional bright work and distinctive lighting distinguish the MKZ from its predecessor. The Lincoln MKZ uses genuine materials in the cabin, including real wood, high-quality leather, satin nickel and chromed trim. Satellite radio, power moonroof, heated and cooled front seats, high-intensity-discharge headlamps, and 17-in chrome aluminum 8-spoke wheels are some of the select options. With 15.8-cubic foot trunk and flat load floor, the MKZ has the largest cargo capacity in the premium midsize class.
