Since its introduction in 2002, the Jeep Liberty continues to be a leader in the mid-size sport-utility vehicle segment. For 2007, the Jeep Liberty offers the Sport and Limited models in 4x2 and 4x4 configurations, as well a new color, Jeep Green Metallic. The Jeep Liberty Sport features a body-color grille, molded-in-color front fascia, and a sill cover to protect the bodyside from road blast. Upscale Liberty Limited adds a chrome grille, chrome bodyside molding, a chrome roof rack side rails, painted body-color front and rear fascias, plus fender flares. Standard power plant is the 3.7-liter, single-overhead-cam V-6 engine that produces 210 horsepower and 235 lb.-ft. of torque. New on the 3.7-liter engine is an exhaust gas recirculation valve which helps increase fuel economy. Two transmissions are offered on the ‘07 Jeep Liberty – a 6-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic. Interior carries 5-passengers, or when seatbacks are folded flat, a total of 69-cubic feet of cargo. The Liberty Renegade model, and the 2.8-liter common rail diesel engine are no longer available.
