GMC enters the crossover SUV market for the first time with the release of its all-new 2007 Acadia. Visually, Acadia reflects design cues found on GMC full-size SUVs, with an athletic body accented by a tapered roofline, polished aluminum roof rails, large headlights with projector beam technology, LED taillights, and rear spoiler. Acadia features a body-frame integral design that enables lower step-in height, and seating for up to 8-occupants. An estimated 116.9 cu. ft. of cargo room is available when 2nd and 3rd roll seatbacks are folded. Power is supplied by GM’s 3.6-liter V-6 with variable valve timing (VVT), designed for good fuel economy, low emissions and exceptional smoothness. It is rated at 275 horsepower and 251 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is backed by a new, fuel-saving Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic transmission. Acadia is available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models, and can tow up to 4,500 pounds, when properly equipped.
