Based on the dramatic concept vehicle seen at the 2005 & 2006 Chicago Auto Show, the 2007 Saturn Aura 5-passenger sports sedan is built in two trim levels: the entry XE and uplevel XR. Saturn offers two power trains at launch. Standard on XE models is the 3.5-liter V-6 with variable valve timing (VVT). This powerplant, mated to the Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic, generates 224 horsepower. Uplevel XR models are equipped with the 252 horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 with VVT, mated with the all-new Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic transmission, the first application of this important addition to a front-wheel drive vehicle. The 6-speed gearbox can be manually shifted through steering wheel-positioned “paddles.” Aura comes standard with 17-inch wheels and tires, or 18-inch polished, 14-spoke cast aluminum wheels and performance tires on the XR models. OnStar-equipped Auras will feature a new service called Turn-by-Turn Navigation, the first factory-installed, fully integrated GPS navigation system. The trunk on this midsize 4-door sedan can carry 15.7 cubic feet. of cargo.
