Someone at Audi must be a huge fan of Mercedes Benz CLS styling! Following the A5 Sportback, the A7 will be the second four-door coupe from Audi which will hit the markets in late 2010. Introduced at Detroit Motor Show, Audi A7 is a direct rival for the CLS, while the A5, belonging to a lower class than this, is more of a Passat CC competitor.

Adistinctive radiator grille with a large star in the middle. Dynamic lateral lines on the flanks. A metallic-painted body that exudes power and excitement. There is no debating that with this car, the Concept BlueZERO, Mercedes-Benz is redefining its familiar design idiom. What’s more, the dynamic exterior design symbolizes innovative forms of mobility that will be based on electric cars.

Auto sales in the U.S. show early signs of a rebound as Ford Motor Company posted a sales percentage loss for the month of June of just 10.7 percent. This is the automaker’s smallest sales decline in 16 months, prompting an unusual amount of optimism in the auto industry. Many automakers still suffered significant decline, however, with Toyota posting a 31.9 percent loss. Surprisingly, General Motors fared only slightly worse, despite the company’s bankruptcy filing, with a 33.4 percent loss.

Downsizing trims the sticker, but there’s another price to pay. BY JOHN PHILLIPS As GM wobbled toward bankruptcy, the company’s boosters often cited Cadillac as proof that at least one division knew the secret for success. But stroll through a Cadillac showroom. The DTS isn’t even on your Uncle Marvin’s radar. The pretty but aging STS has been nudged onto the berm by at least five luxo-sports sedans, none from America.

BMW has gotten a lot of press (some bad) for their MINI E project. Even though the all-electric car comes with a plug, the plug-in advocacy group Plug In America (PIA) has a problem with the way that the Bavarians might be able to get a lot of legislative good will without really putting EVs on the road for good.

Suzuki is getting in on the free gas bandwagon that Hyundai kicked off this year by launching a "Free Gas for Summer" promotion on all SX4s sold between now and August 31st. Of course, it pays to read the fine print – what the purchaser really gets is a pre-paid credit card loaded up with $270 for the SX4 Sedan or $290 for the slightly less fuel efficient SX4 Crossover.
